Let the fights begin!

Mattel Creations is set to launch its latest crowdfunding campaign today, March 29th, 2023 at 12 pm EST.(scroll to the end for link)  The WWE Ultimate Edition WCW Monday Nitro Entrance Stage! Now before we get into pricing, let’s have a look at what is being offered.

What’s all the hype?

The wrestling “Monday Night Wars” were a period of intense competition between two of the biggest wrestling promotions in the United States during the 1990s. The war began in 1995 when Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (WCW) launched their flagship show, Monday Nitro, to compete with Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Federation (WWF)’s Monday Night Raw. Both shows aired on the same night and at the same time, creating a direct head-to-head battle for viewership.

The Monday Night Wars saw both companies engage in a series of increasingly elaborate and expensive tactics to try to gain the upper hand. This included signing high-profile talent from each other, featuring shocking moments and storylines, and investing heavily in production values. The competition was fierce, with both companies trying to outdo each other in ratings, merchandise sales, and pay-per-view buys. The war came to an end in 2001 when WCW was bought out by the WWF (which later became WWE), but the legacy of the Monday Night Wars remains an important chapter in the history of professional wrestling.

Mattel Creations’ WCW Monday Nitro Entrance Stage: A Stunning Collector’s Item

This WCW Monday Nitro Entrance Stage from Mattel Creations is a truly impressive collector’s item. It’s an exact replica of the entrance stage from the WCW Nitro all those years ago, and it’s been recreated with incredible attention to detail. The size of this stage is also quite impressive, measuring at H 20.5 inches x W 40 inches x D 20 inches with an 11-inch ramp.

One of the standout features of this stage is the entrance tunnel, which is lit up by 100 LED lights with 6 preprogrammed animated sequences. Even better, it’s controlled by a remote! The stage also includes 4 adjustable can lights to spotlight your favorite superstars, making the lighting on this thing truly out of this world.

In addition to the impressive lighting effects, the entrance tunnel also features authentic Monday Nitro signs and a couple of premium fabric WCW Monday Nitro banners. And for added convenience, the ramp is repositionable. This stage also comes with premium packaging to make it easy to display and store. Overall, this is an amazing collectible for any wrestling fan who wants to bring a piece of history into their home.

That’s not all! You can also get some bonus figures. By reaching the first goal of 5000 backers by April 7th all backers will get a Nitro debut Hulk Hogan Ultimate Edition wrestling figure. Reaching 5000 backers will also snag you a Masked Rey Mysterio Ultimates Edition wrestling figure as well. At the 7000 mark, be prepared to hit the diamond cutter with the included Diamond Dallas Page Ultimate Edition wrestling figure. “Holla if you hear me”, Hitting 9000 backers will bring us “Big Poppa Pump: Scott Steiner Ultimate Edition wrestling figure! And finally, 11000 backers will unlock the one who hails from parts unknown: the Ultimate Edition Ultimate Warrior figure! Wow, those are some damn good tiers!

Will you pay the price?

This set is amazing, but it comes at a high price of $400USD ($695 CAD). Let’s break it down. If all tiers are met, each figure would cost around $35USD ($50 CAD), totaling $175USD ($250 CAD) for the figures alone. This leaves $225USD ($445 CAD) for the WCW Monday Nitro Entrance Stage, which is still a significant amount, especially for Canadian customers who have to pay an extra $100 in shipping and duty fees. So, yes, it’s definitely an expensive investment.

Despite the high cost, I believe that Mattel Creations will have no trouble funding this project as it will exceed all the tiers in no time at all. The collectible is worth every penny, and wrestling fans will definitely want to add it to their collection. For those who miss out, it will become a rare and coveted item in wrestling collecting.

Personally, I’m interested in purchasing the set, but as a Canadian, I’ll have to wait until all tiers are met to justify the expense. If I were living in the US, I would have no hesitation in buying it on the first day.

Mattel Creations giving fans what they want

In conclusion, the launch of Mattel Creations’ latest crowdfunding campaign for their WWE Ultimate Edition WCW Monday Nitro Entrance Stage is an exciting event for wrestling fans and collectors. The Monday Night Wars were a significant period in wrestling history, and this stage offers a chance for fans to bring a piece of that history into their homes. The attention to detail and impressive lighting effects make this stage a stunning collector’s item, although it does come at a high price point. With the added bonus of exclusive wrestling figures for backers, this campaign is sure to be a success, and wrestling fans will undoubtedly be eager to get their hands on this unique piece.
